BCHN Celebrates National Health Center Week 2019

Health centers in the United States serve 28 million patients – a number that continues to grow along with the demand for affordable primary care. In addition to their long history as health care homes to millions, health centers produce innovative solutions to the most pressing health care issues in their communities and reach beyond the walls of conventional medicine to address the social determinants of health affecting special patient populations.

Each year we celebrate the work and services health centers provide to special populations within their community on during National Health Center.  The annual celebration raises awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America's health centers over the past five decades.

The year, BCHN hosted and participated in a number of events throughout the week.  Pictured above, (top) the community health and wellness team partnered with Bissel Gardens on a farmers' market/health event, and (bottom) participated in the 46th Precinct's National Night Out event.  BCHN sponsored healthy snacks for the event, provided naloxone kit training and distribution, and information on our services and programs.
